At the bottom of the piston knob, which gives a rough indication that the pen was made in the 1990s. This pen is a piston filler and sported with the rare original 18k dual tone. Broad-sized gold nib with PF marking. Pelikan M700 debuted in 1986. In the earlier days, M700 Toledos were engraved by 3 artists (initials CT, EH and JB).
Among the three, CT is the earliest engraver (and the most creative one in my opinion) and he has long retired. This is one of the earlier art pieces made by CT. CT, being a creative artist, has his "T" in his signature turned 90 degree, forming an "EI" instead (see below photo). This is one of the reasons why he is my favorite artist in the Toledo series. This pen is brand new, never inked and dipped, and comes with the original box. Please note that this pen does not come with its original papers as it was misplaced after years of storage. This pen is definitely a genuine and a very collectible item for serious collectors.
