If you're not familiar with Pelikan then here's a very quick introduction. The company was founded in the early part of the 20th Century and is most famous for its piston filling mechanism, used on their fountain pens. Produced in Germany, Pelikan pens are renowned for their classic design and fantastic quality. The M450 Vermeil was only produced from 1998 - 2001 and features a sterling silver barrel which is then gold plated. The black resin barrel offers a delightful contrast and has a deep glow.
The pen is fitted with a medium 18c nib and the joy of these Pelikan nib units is that they can very easily be unscrewed and changed if required. The important details are as follows.. As the Financial Times said recently in their How To Spend It publication - "izods is an e-cache of ultra fine fountain pens".
